Alternative Pathways

While we hope all students who start the Middle College program will successfully complete it, some students will not remain in the program for various reasons.

If a student is not happy in their first three weeks at Middle College, they can return to their home school. After the first six weeks of the SMUHSD semester, students may be unable to return to their home school because they cannot receive full credit for high school classes. 

Under certain circumstances, the Middle College program will seek alternatives for students. Some options may include transferring a student to Peninsula Alternative High School or the Adult School. In both cases, the Middle College administrator will refer students to those programs.
