Wellness Drop-In Hours: Students may drop in to see the Wellness Counselor without an appointment during specified drop-in hours.
Group Counseling: A small group of students meet weekly for 8-10 weeks to talk, interact, and discuss problems with each other and Ms. Rivera about a topic (such as Stress Management, Grief and Loss, Building Confidence, etc.)
Crisis Support: Short term, providing students with assistance, support and resources during a time of crisis. The main aim of crisis support is to help reduce stress and improve the student’s ability to cope with their current situation, as well as with future crises.
Weekly Individual Counseling (12 sessions) (Limited): After the proper referral process has been completed, the student will have weekly counseling sessions, usually on the same day and time every week, for 10-12 weeks.
Referrals: Need to visit a clinic? Want to talk to a therapist outside of school? Other community resource needs? Ms. Rivera can help connect you.
Classroom Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Support: Ms. Rivera provides support during Advisory to bring wellness and mental health topics to all students, including creating curriculum for advisors, bringing in outside agencies/presenters, and collaborating with CSM staff to present on SEL topics.
