How to Enroll
10th Grade Students and Families:
The Middle College team encourages students interested in getting a head start on college courses and saving money on future college expenses to apply to Middle College for the 2026-27 school year. Middle College is an alternative education program in the San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD), in collaboration with the San Mateo Community College District, that allows students to earn college credit while meeting their high school diploma requirements.
Middle College, located on the beautiful College of San Mateo campus, offers an individualized learning community that focuses on the following values:

All 10th grade students attended an information session on January 12 about Middle College during one of their classes.
Middle College Preview Week for Students
January 26 - 29, 2026: Come spend a few hours at CSM with current Middle College students getting to know what campus life is about.
Students: Sign up to reserve your spot. Space is limited. This opportunity is recommended for students but not required.
January 22 Parent/Guardian Virtual Info Session
We are also offering a virtual information session for parents/guardians to learn more about Middle College on Thursday, January 22, from 6 - 7 p.m.This info session will be in English, with simultaneous Spanish interpretation available.

Parent/Guardian attendance at an info session is not mandatory for students to apply, but we strongly recommend that parents of interested students join us to learn more.
Applications for 2026-27 School Year
Interested students can learn more and fill out an application from January 12 - February 27.
